You can search users and usernames using % as a wildcard. For example, you can find Kristina God by her username %kristinagod%.
Filters
Currently, the Substack dashboard provides the following filters on the top menu:
- category
- user
- bestseller tier
- datasource
- date/time range
You can use the search function to find what you are looking for and filters to see more details of the selected user and his/her publications, subscriptions, posts, and notes.
User Details
The user details section provides data for the selected period, such as posts and notes published, total words written, and total engagement. It also shows the selected person's number of publications and subscriptions, with breakdowns by type.
Content
The content section shows the topics the user writes about as a word cloud from post titles and Notes body. The breakdown of posts by type and audience is provided.
The dashboard provides each post and note with engagement metrics as sortable columns, allowing you to quickly find the highest-performing content for this user. Click the column to sort the table by respective metrics. These tables also have clickable links to get to each post or note with one click.
Engagement
The engagement section shows the engagement metrics (reactions, restacks, comments) over time, visualizing the growth over a selected time period.
Engagement by posting hours (UTC timezone) of Posts and Notes helps find the optimal time to post for a user's audience. The heatmap views show how this changes over time as the audience profile changes.
We provide a similar analysis of the posts and notes on the weekdays for the best engagement.
Consistency
Many writers know that consistency is vital for growth. The following section provides visibility of how consistently the writer is posting per hour, per day, per weekday, and month.
Statistics
The statistics section shows interesting details, such as
- Publications by activity
- Most productive users
- Subscriber benefits by type and bestseller tier
This section can help to identify other growth strategies that you haven't considered so far.
Future
